Description

The Gravity: PM2.5 Air Quality Sensor is a high-precision laser scattering module designed to measure PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10 particulate matter in real time. Equipped with an easy-to-use Gravity I2C interface, it is ideal for makers, students, and educators building automated air quality and environmental monitoring systems.

Real-time particulate matter monitoring

The sensor continuously collects and calculates the concentration of suspended PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10 particles per unit volume. It outputs live data via I2C, making it well suited for deployment in kitchens, smoking areas, bathrooms, and environmental improvement equipment.

Real-time particulate matter monitoring

Laser scattering detection method

Suspended particles are irradiated by an internal laser to produce light scattering, which is analysed using MIE theory algorithms to determine precise particle size distribution. It identifies particles as small as 0.3 micrometres with zero false alarm rate.

Laser scattering detection method

Shielded compact hardware design

Featuring six-sided all-round shielding for enhanced anti-interference, the module is built with an ultra-thin 12mm profile suited for portable devices. It achieves a single response time under one second and a comprehensive response time within ten seconds.

Shielded compact hardware design

Straightforward Gravity controller integration

Operating across a 3.3V to 5V voltage range, the sensor works seamlessly with standard development boards and microcontrollers. The module includes a Gravity 4-pin I2C/UART sensor cable for quick, solderless wiring.

Accurate wide-range particle detection

The module provides an effective PM2.5 measurement range of 0 to 500 ug/m³ with a resolution of 1 ug/m³ and maximum range exceeding 1000 ug/m³. It maintains reliable consistency within ±10% between 100 and 500 ug/m³, operating reliably across -10°C to +60°C.
