The Gravity: PAJ7620U2 3D Gesture Recognition Sensor enables touchless motion control for embedded electronics, detecting up to 13 distinct hand gestures within a 3 to 20cm range. Communicating over standard I2C with a fast 120Hz update rate, it is ideal for students, makers, and developers building interactive robotics, contactless controllers, and smart lighting systems.

Comprehensive 13-gesture detection

The sensor identifies directional movements, clockwise and counter-clockwise rotations, and wave motions at distances from 3cm to 20cm. A 120Hz update rate ensures rapid optical response and accurate tracking during dynamic hand movements.

Dual speed recognition modes

Fast detection mode tracks nine essential gestures for quick interactions such as robotic navigation or gaming. Slow detection mode expands detection to thirteen patterns and allows sampling time adjustments for deliberate motions.

Simple I2C microcontroller integration

Using an I2C communication interface with address 0x73, the board connects directly to development platforms like Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi. Developers can also implement custom gesture definitions for specialised interaction requirements.

Compact low-power hardware

Operating between 3.3V and 5.5V with a low 3.5mA current draw, the sensor measures just 30 by 22mm. It is rated for operation in temperatures from -40°C to 85°C, making it suitable for compact embedded installations.
