Description
The Gravity: micro:Mate is a compact expansion board designed to broaden the hardware interfacing capabilities of the BBC micro:bit. Featuring standard Gravity interface ports and selectable power outputs, it is well suited for students, teachers, and makers building modular electronics and robotics projects.
Compact Gravity-compatible footprint
The board features a compact form factor that fits directly onto the micro:bit without adding unnecessary bulk. It allows direct connection to standard Gravity-compatible sensors, actuators, and modules.
Six colour-coded 3-pin ports
Equipped with six colour-coded 3-pin interfaces, the board simplifies wiring by clearly distinguishing signal, power, and ground lines. This layout reduces connection mistakes during classroom use and rapid prototyping.
Selectable 3.3V and 5V output
The expansion board provides a switchable voltage selection between 3.3V and 5V. This allows users to easily power both low-voltage components and standard 5V modules from the same setup.
Integrated PWM support
The board supports pulse-width modulation output across compatible ports. This feature enables smooth and accurate control of components such as hobby servos, buzzer tones, and dimmable LEDs.
Dedicated 5V 2A power input
A dedicated 5V 2A power input supplies sufficient current for power-hungry hardware such as motors and servos. This external input protects the micro:bit by isolating high-current loads from the main processor.
