Description

The Gravity MEMS Gas Sensor is a versatile environmental sensing module based on the MiCS-4514, designed to measure concentrations of carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, alcohol, hydrogen, ammonia, and methane. With standard Gravity I2C communication and 3.3V to 5.5V logic compatibility, it is an ideal choice for students, educators, and hobbyists building smart safety systems and air quality monitors.

Multi-gas detection capabilities

This sensor measures a broad spectrum of ambient gases, including carbon monoxide (1 to 1000 ppm), nitrogen dioxide (0.05 to 10 ppm), ethanol (10 to 500 ppm), hydrogen (1 to 1000 ppm), ammonia (1 to 500 ppm), and methane (>1000 ppm). Software libraries include integrated concentration calculation formulas to simplify code development and measurement readouts.

Broad controller compatibility

Equipped with an I2C digital output, the module operates across a wide input voltage range of 3.3V to 5.5V DC. It connects directly to mainstream controllers including Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi while maintaining a low power dissipation of 0.45W at 5V.

Compact and robust hardware

Measuring 27mm by 37mm with 3.1mm mounting holes, the board integrates easily into compact enclosures. It supports an operating temperature range of -30°C to 85°C and offers an operational lifespan exceeding two years in open air.

Target project applications

The module is suitable for developing gas safety equipment, environmental air quality monitoring stations, and domestic or industrial gas leak alarms.
