Description

The Gravity: LTR390 UV Light Sensor provides accurate ultraviolet (280nm to 430nm) and ambient light measurement with direct digital output. Ideal for students, educators, and hobbyists building weather stations or monitoring devices, it features an onboard MCU and ADC for straightforward microcontoller integration.

Dual UV and ambient light detection

The onboard LTR390-UV-01 sensor measures both ultraviolet radiation between 280nm and 430nm and ambient light from 450nm to 700nm. Its ambient light spectral response closely mirrors human eye sensitivity for realistic illumination monitoring.

I2C digital communication

An integrated MCU and ADC convert raw optical measurements into clean digital signals over I2C. The Gravity-compatible pinout simplifies wiring to both 3.3V and 5V development boards.

I2C digital communication

UART serial interface support

In addition to I2C, the module provides a standard UART communication option. This dual-interface design offers flexibility when designing multi-sensor arrays or connecting to dedicated serial ports.

UART serial interface support

Configurable resolution and gain settings

Users can select an effective resolution ranging from 13 to 20 bits and adjust gain between 1x, 3x, 6x, 9x, and 18x. These adjustable parameters allow precise tuning for varied outdoor sunlight and indoor lighting conditions.

Programmable threshold interrupts

An onboard interrupt function allows you to configure upper and lower light limits directly on the sensor. The module signals the host microcontroller only when thresholds are crossed, reducing processing overhead.

Low-power design and included cable

Operating from 3.3V to 5V DC, the board draws approximately 2.73mA during 18-bit acquisition at 100ms. The compact 32mm by 27mm board includes a Gravity-4P I2C/UART sensor cable for quick connection.
