Description
The Gravity Linear Analog Hall Effect Sensor is an accurate magnetic monitoring module capable of measuring magnetic field intensity across a range of ±1200 GS. Operating between 3.3V and 5V, it outputs a proportional analog voltage for seamless integration with microcontrollers. It is well suited to students, makers, and educators developing motor control, current sensing, or position-detection projects.
Bipolar magnetic field detection
The onboard linear Hall effect circuitry converts magnetic induction strength directly into an analog voltage output. Approaching the sensing surface with a south pole drives the voltage above the midpoint, while a north pole reduces it below midpoint across the ±1200 GS range.
Simple micro:bit and Arduino wiring
Equipped with a standard Gravity PH2.0-3P analog interface, the sensor connects easily to popular microcontrollers including Arduino, micro:bit, and UNIHIKER. A 30cm analog sensor cable is included in the package for immediate plug-and-play hookup.
Calibrated magnetic pole monitoring
The sensor delivers distinct numeric analog ranges depending on the controller, such as 520 to 1023 for south poles and 0 to 500 for north poles on Arduino and micro:bit. On UNIHIKER platforms, readings map to 2068 to 4095 for south poles and 0 to 2028 for north poles.
Low noise stable signal output
The integrated circuit features low-noise signal processing paired with a single current source output. This design protects readings from external voltage fluctuations and ensures dependable precision in laboratory or robotics environments.
Onboard LED status indicator
An integrated LED illuminates whenever a magnetic field is detected, providing quick visual verification during testing. The effective detection distance is under 1cm, varying according to magnetic field intensity and orientation.
Compact and lightweight design
Measuring 27 by 32mm and weighing just 3.5g, this board easily fits into compact assemblies. It draws between 4.2mA and 8mA during operation, making it efficient for battery-powered applications such as metal detectors and motor controllers.
