Description
The Gravity: IoT Starter Kit for micro:bit is an all-in-one bundle designed for students, educators, and makers to learn and build connected Internet of Things projects. It combines a micro:bit microcontroller with the Obloq Wi-Fi module, a Micro:Mate expansion board, and seven plug-and-play Gravity sensors and actuators.
Plug-and-play Obloq Wi-Fi module
The included Obloq module adds straightforward Internet connectivity to the micro:bit. Setup is completed in the MakeCode block editor simply by entering your Wi-Fi network credentials into the provided blocks.
Web service and HTTP support
Beyond standard IoT communication, the Obloq module supports HTTP requests. This enables your micro:bit to connect to external web applications and services such as IFTTT webhooks.
EasyIoT cloud data visualisation
The EasyIoT educational platform allows users to exchange, log, and visualise project data from any web browser. Devices under the same topic automatically receive published messages, which are saved in the cloud for analysis.
Real-world sensor and actuator bundle
The kit features seven practical Gravity modules, including a soil moisture sensor, waterproof DS18B20 temperature probe, PIR motion detector, sound sensor, 5A relay, digital speaker, and a 9g metal gear servo.
Practical smart home automation
Combining the micro:bit with Internet connectivity and onboard peripherals allows you to prototype practical IoT systems, such as remotely monitoring environmental conditions or switching appliances via the relay.
Gravity ecosystem compatibility
Built around the Micro:Mate expansion board, this kit is fully compatible with the wider DFRobot Gravity series, offering easy plug-and-play expansion with hundreds of additional components.
