Description
The Gravity: Intermediate Kit for Arduino is a versatile physical computing toolkit built around the DFRduino UNO Rev3 and an IO Expansion Shield. Featuring an extensive selection of digital and analogue sensors, interactive actuators, and a display module, it is ideal for STEM classrooms, engineering students, and hobbyists advancing their embedded programming skills.
DFRduino UNO with IO expansion
At the core of the kit is a DFRduino UNO Rev3 development board paired with an IO Expansion Shield V7. This configuration simplifies prototyping by providing dedicated headers for rapid, reliable module connections.
Environmental and safety monitoring sensors
The kit includes a DHT11 temperature and humidity sensor, an ambient light sensor, an MQ2 gas sensor, and a flame sensor. These components allow learners to capture environmental data and build automated monitoring stations.
Motion, audio, and user inputs
Interactive inputs are handled by an infrared motion sensor, an analogue sound sensor, vibration sensors, a rotation sensor, and a push button module. An included IR remote kit provides wireless input for remote-controlled prototypes.
Actuators, display, and output modules
Outputs include an I2C/TWI LCD1602 display, a 9g micro servo with 1.6kg torque, a digital relay, a buzzer, and a red Piranha LED. A shiftout module is also supplied to support expanded digital signal projects.
Versatile power and connection hardware
Projects can be powered via the supplied USB cable or untethered using the 6xAA battery holder with a DC2.1 power jack. Jumper wires are included to support flexible module interconnection.
Progressive project curriculum and applications
Accompanying tutorials and example programs guide users from basic LED control to multi-sensor systems like alarm circuits, interactive displays, and robotics prototypes. This structured pathway makes it well suited for structured STEM education and independent maker experimentation.
