Description

The Gravity I2C Triple Axis Accelerometer is an ultra-low-power motion sensor module based on the MEMS LIS2DH chipset. Featuring an easy-to-use Gravity I2C interface and wide operating voltage, it is ideal for students, makers, and hobbyists building battery-powered wearables and motion-activated projects.

Ultra-low power consumption

The LIS2DH draws only 2 µA in low-power mode and 11 µA in normal mode at a 50 Hz output data rate. This minimal power requirement makes the module ideal for compact battery-operated devices, pedometers, and remote logging hardware.

Configurable measurement ranges

The sensor features adjustable sensitivity scales of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g with 16-bit resolution data output. It supports data output frequencies from 1 Hz up to 5.3 kHz to handle both steady tilt measurements and fast dynamic motion.

Advanced motion and orientation interrupts

Two independent programmable interrupt generators allow automatic wake-up on free-fall and motion events. The module also features built-in 6D/4D spatial orientation detection, an embedded FIFO buffer, and an integrated temperature sensor.

Gravity I2C plug and play

An on-board LDO power regulator and I2C level shifting circuit provide seamless compatibility across 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers. The module includes a Gravity 4-pin cable for instant, solder-free wiring to development boards.

Rugged and compact footprint

With a compact 26.2 mm square footprint and a weight of 12 g, the board withstands impacts up to one million g. It is rated for operation in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +85 °C.
