Description

The Gravity: I2C LIS2DW12 is an ultra-low-power, three-axis linear accelerometer designed for precise motion and orientation tracking. Offering selectable measurement ranges up to ±16g and versatile interrupt functions, it is ideal for students, hobbyists, and makers building battery-powered wearables, robotics, and interactive projects.

Flexible acceleration scaling and sampling

The sensor provides 16-bit data output with user-selectable measurement ranges of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g. Output data rates can be adjusted from 1.6 Hz up to 1600 Hz to suit both fast dynamic tracking and power-sensitive monitoring.

Dedicated motion detection engine

Equipped with two independent programmable interrupts, the internal engine directly processes free-fall, 4D/6D orientation, single and double taps, portrait or landscape shifts, and stationary motion. These built-in detection algorithms offload processing tasks from your main microcontroller.

Solderless Gravity I2C connection

A plug-and-play Gravity I2C interface allows quick wiring without any soldering required. An onboard toggle switch lets you easily swap the I2C address between 0x19 (default) and 0x18 to prevent bus address conflicts.

Ultra-low power performance

Operating at 3.3V to 5V, the module draws only 8 to 10 uA in low-power mode with ultra-low 1.3 mgRMS noise, and 0.12 mA in high-performance mode. An integrated 32-level FIFO buffer and sleep-to-wakeup functionality further optimise energy efficiency for battery-powered builds.

Durable and compact design

The 27 x 27 mm board features 10,000g high shock survivability and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. Standard mounting holes with a 3.1 mm inner diameter allow secure mechanical installation in robotic chassis and enclosures.

Each pack includes one Gravity: I2C LIS2DW12 Triple Axis Accelerometer Sensor and one compatible Gravity-4P I2C/UART sensor cable for immediate hookup.
