Description

The Gravity GR10-30 is a non-contact hand gesture recognition sensor capable of detecting 12 distinct motions at a range of up to 30cm. Supporting both UART and I2C communication with 3.3V to 5V logic, it is an ideal interface for students, makers, and educators building interactive Arduino and robotics projects.

Twelve recognisable hand gestures

The sensor identifies directional movements including up, down, left, right, forward, and backward, as well as wave, hover, clockwise, and counterclockwise motions. It also tracks continuous rotations in both directions for fluid, touchless user interaction.

Simple microcontroller integration

The board communicates over standard UART at 9600 baud or via I2C at address 0x73, making it straightforward to connect to microcontrollers like Arduino. It operates reliably across a wide 3.3V to 5V supply range.

Simple microcontroller integration

Customisable detection thresholds

Users can adjust core parameters to match project needs, including recognition window size, trigger distance, hand rotation angles, and required hover durations. These settings allow fine-tuning to prevent accidental triggers and improve accuracy.

Dedicated hardware interrupt outputs

Two onboard interrupt pins provide instant status updates: one signals when an object enters the detection field, and the second triggers when a valid gesture occurs. This reduces processor workload by avoiding the need for continuous polling.

Compact low-power footprint

Measuring just 22 by 30mm with an operating current under 10mA, the module fits easily into space-constrained enclosures. It operates across temperatures from 0 to 70 degrees Celsius and relative humidity levels from 5% to 85% RH.

What is in the box

The package includes one Gravity GR10-30 gesture sensor and one Gravity 4-pin I2C/UART sensor cable for immediate connection.
