Description
The Gravity GP8630N DAC Module is a high-precision 16-bit digital-to-analogue converter that transforms I2C or PWM digital signals into stable analogue voltage and current outputs. Supporting symmetrical plus-minus 10V, 0-10V, 0-5V, and 4-20mA current loop modes, it is ideal for makers, engineering students, and automation developers needing precise control over industrial equipment.
Bipolar output for bidirectional control
Unlike standard unipolar converters, this module provides a symmetrical plus-minus 10V output to control bidirectional devices without extra bridge circuits. For motor and valve actuation, a positive voltage drives forward motion, negative voltage reverses direction, and 0V triggers a stop.
High-precision 16-bit analogue generation
Featuring the GP8630N chip, the module delivers 16-bit resolution in I2C mode with a low full-scale error of plus-minus 0.2 percent. It also provides standard 4-20mA industrial current loop generation with an operational range spanning 0 to 24mA.
Dual I2C and PWM input
The module accepts both I2C communication and PWM control signals, accommodating 8-bit or 10-bit PWM resolutions depending on the host microcontroller. It works across 3.3V and 5V logic levels, ensuring easy integration with Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi platforms.
Cascading multi-device expansion
Support for 8 selectable I2C addresses allows you to connect up to 8 modules simultaneously on a single communication bus. This enables complex multi-channel automation setups without requiring additional microcontroller pins.
Compact layout and included wiring
The board measures 42 by 32 mm with standard 25 mm mounting hole spacing for neat installation in enclosures. It comes supplied with both a Gravity 4-pin I2C cable and a 3-pin analogue cable for plug-and-play prototyping.
