Description
The Gravity Geiger Counter Module is an ionizing radiation detector designed to sense nuclear radiation, X-rays, and cosmic rays. Operating from a 3.3V to 5V supply, it is suited for students, educators, and hobbyists conducting principle research and educational physics experiments.
Ionizing radiation detection
The module detects ionizing radiation sources such as nuclear radiation, X-rays, cosmic rays, and naturally occurring radioactive minerals. It does not detect non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation, such as mobile phone, Wi-Fi, microwave, or induction cooker emissions.

Sensitive M4011 Geiger tube
The onboard M4011 glass tube operates at 380V to 450V via an integrated 400V boost circuit. It features a background count of approximately 25 CPM and a sensitivity ratio of 153.8 CPM per μSv/h.
Gravity digital interface
Designed for 3.3V to 5V microcontrollers, the sensor pulls its digital output low whenever an ionization pulse is detected. This allows direct pulse counting up to a theoretical maximum measurement limit of 1200 μSv/h.
True random number generation
Because atmospheric and background ionizing particle events occur at unpredictable intervals, the detector acts as an environmental entropy source. This enables the generation of true random numbers rather than algorithmic pseudo-random sequences.
Educational and experimental rating
This unit is designed for teaching demonstrations, scientific experiments, and maker builds. It is not a professional safety instrument and must not be relied upon for health-critical radiation dose assessment.
