Gravity: Flexible Piezo Film Vibration Sensor

The Gravity: Flexible Piezo Film Vibration Sensor is an Arduino-compatible module designed to measure vibration, flexibility, impact, and touch. Built around a sensitive piezoelectric polymer film and a dedicated converter board, it is ideal for makers, students, and engineers developing responsive interactive projects.

Piezoelectric PVDF film construction

The sensor uses a 28 µm thick piezoelectric PVDF polymer film with screen-printed Ag-ink electrodes laminated onto a 0.125 mm polyester substrate. When deflected from its mechanical neutral axis, mechanical strain produces voltages of up to ±90V, sufficient to trigger MOSFET or CMOS stages directly.

Dual analogue and digital outputs

The converter board provides both digital and analogue signal outputs to suit diverse measurement requirements. It detects everything from subtle surface vibrations to direct, strong impacts.

On-board sensitivity adjustment

An integrated potentiometer allows you to calibrate the module for your specific application. Turning the potentiometer adjusts the trigger threshold value to increase or decrease detection sensitivity.

Broad dynamic frequency range

With an operating dynamic range spanning 0.001 Hz to 1000 MHz, the film ensures responsive and reliable sensing performance across a vast spectrum of physical movements.

Gravity interface and specifications

The module runs at 5V and features a standard Gravity PH2.0 3-pin interface for plug-and-play wiring. The converter board measures 27 mm by 22 mm, weighs 10 g, and comes complete with the piezo film and a Gravity 3-pin digital cable.
