Description
The Gravity: Digital RGB LED Module is a cascadable WS2812 5050 RGB LED unit designed for building modular lighting displays and visual indicators. It provides an accessible, solder-free solution for students, hobbyists, and educators integrating programmable full-colour lighting into their electronics projects.
Plug-and-play controller connectivity
Equipped with a standard Gravity 3-pin digital interface, the module connects directly to 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers including Arduino, micro:bit, FireBeetle, LattePanda, and Raspberry Pi when using compatible expansion shields.
Single-wire cascading control
Unlike standard RGB modules requiring three signal pins per LED, this unit controls entire daisy-chained strings using a single signal pin. This modular setup allows you to customise the length of your LED string easily without cutting strips or soldering individual components.
High-brightness WS2812 5050 LED
The module features an integrated WS2812 5050 RGB LED that is fully compatible with standard RGB LED strip drivers and code libraries. It operates across an input voltage range of 3.3V to 5.5V with a maximum current draw of 48mA and a quiescent current of 0.7mA.
Efficient long-distance chaining
Individual board spacing delivers lower power consumption per metre than conventional continuous strips. This enables setups of over 100 cascaded modules spanning several tens of metres while drawing no more than 5V 2A.
Supplied hardware
The pack includes one 30.0mm by 22.0mm Gravity: Digital RGB LED Module and one matching Gravity 3-pin digital wiring harness for fast prototyping.
