Description
The Gravity: Digital Line Tracking Sensor allows mobile robots to quickly distinguish between black and white surfaces for precise navigation. It is designed for students, makers, and educators building Arduino-based robotic vehicles.
Reliable line following navigation
The sensor detects surface contrast to keep autonomous robots on tracked paths with high consistency. It outputs a clear digital TTL signal, registering a low output for black surfaces and a high output for white.
Upgraded optical sensor sensitivity
Equipped with an updated optical interrupter, the module delivers enhanced sensitivity and detection accuracy. It operates effectively at a detecting range between 1cm and 2cm above the surface.
Flexible 3.3V to 5V power support
With a wide operating voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, this module integrates seamlessly with both standard 5V microcontrollers and low-voltage 3.3V boards. It draws an operating current of 20mA at 5V.
Standardised compact mounting layout
Measuring 28mm by 10mm, the board features an immersion gold finish and a high-quality connector. It incorporates two 3mm mounting holes spaced at standard 5mm-increment centre distances for easy robot chassis mounting.
Floor zoning and drop detection
Beyond line tracking, multiple sensors can be used to distinguish between dark and light floor areas to alter robot behaviour. They can also act as stair detectors by triggering when a lack of surface reflection indicates a drop.
