The Gravity: Digital Capacitive Touch Sensor brings mobile-phone-style touch switching to your interactive projects. It detects direct contact from fingers or metal and can even sense touch through thin barriers such as paper or cloth. It is an ideal upgrade from mechanical buttons for students, hobbyists, and makers building custom interfaces.

Responsive capacitive touch sensing

This module detects contact from human fingers and metal surfaces, outputting a simple digital high or low signal. It can register touch through insulating layers like cloth and paper, with sensitivity naturally decreasing as the material thickness increases.

Easy Gravity interface integration

Designed around the standard Gravity interface, the sensor enables plug-and-play connectivity when used with an IO expansion shield. It comes supplied with a dedicated digital cable to streamline wiring and prototyping.

Broad board and voltage compatibility

With a wide operating supply voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, this digital sensor interfaces directly with standard 5V microcontrollers and 3.3V development boards. Compatible hardware platforms include Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Intel Edison, Joule, and Curie.

Standardised mounting and finish

The compact 22x30mm board is finished with an immersion gold surface and fitted with a high-quality connector. It features two 3mm mounting holes spaced at multiples of 5cm for straightforward mechanical integration into enclosures and chassis.
