Description

The Gravity Digital Adjustable Infrared Proximity Sensor provides reliable object detection across a 0 to 200 cm range for automation and robotics projects. Operating on 3 to 5V with a straightforward digital switch output, it is an accessible solution for students, makers, and developers building obstacle-avoiding robots and interactive systems.

Adjustable long-range detection

The sensor features a 0 to 200 cm detection range that can be quickly calibrated using the onboard adjustment screw. It maintains ±5% accuracy, allowing it to perform consistently even in dusty working environments.

Digital PNP switch output

The unit operates with a PNP normally open configuration, returning a digital low (0) when clear and high (1) when an obstacle is detected. This binary signal simplifies logic programming on Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and compatible PLC systems.

Gravity interface and wide voltage

Designed with a 3-pin XH2.54 Gravity interface, the sensor easily connects to standard IO expansion shields for solderless prototyping. It supports an operating voltage range of 3V to 5V to match standard microcontroller logic levels.

Threaded cylindrical body

With a 75 mm length and an 18 mm diameter, the cylindrical body includes retaining nuts for straightforward mounting through panel holes. This allows makers to securely aim the beam in custom orientations on robot chassis.

Recommended operating conditions

The sensor is suited for indoor applications such as wall followers, AGVs, and display triggers, but performance may degrade under direct outdoor sunlight or highly reflective surfaces. It is rated for operating temperatures between -15°C and 60°C in humidity ranging from 35% to 95% RH.
