Description
The Gravity: BMP585 High-Precision Barometric Pressure & Temperature Sensor is an industrial-grade module built around the Bosch BMP585 chip in a rugged, gel-filled housing. Delivering ±0.3 hPa absolute accuracy and ultra-low noise, it provides dependable centimetre-level altitude tracking even in harsh environments. It is ideal for students, makers, and engineers developing drone stabilisation systems, outdoor weather stations, and precision navigation projects.
Rugged waterproof gel design
A specialised gel-filled cavity and industrial-grade protective cover shield the internal MEMS sensor from water, moisture, and chemical exposure. This robust construction ensures long-term operational stability in harsh outdoor and agricultural environments where standard pressure sensors fail.
High precision and ultra-low noise
The sensor achieves ±0.3 hPa absolute accuracy and ±0.06 hPa relative accuracy across a 30 to 125 kPa range with an ultra-low noise floor below 0.1 Pa. Combined with a low temperature drift coefficient of ±0.5 Pa/K, it reliably detects fine vertical altitude variations.
Hardware FIFO and IIR filtering
An integrated hardware FIFO buffer reduces microcontroller polling requirements to conserve system power and processing overhead. Built-in configurable Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filtering smooths data jitter caused by sudden airflow or turbulence, providing clean data for real-time control loops.
Dual I2C and UART interfacing
Supporting both I2C and UART communication protocols, the module connects effortlessly via standard Gravity PH2.0-4P cables or 2.54 mm pin headers. A wide 3.3V to 5V operating range ensures immediate plug-and-play compatibility with Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi platforms.

Versatile tracking and monitoring applications
With a low 700 μA operating current, this module excels in drone altitude hold, vertical speed calculation, and outdoor meteorological stations. It is equally suited for sports altimeters, smart home HVAC airflow monitoring, and indoor multi-floor asset tracking.
