Description
The Gravity BME688 is a compact 4-in-1 MEMS environmental sensor that measures volatile organic compounds (VOCs), temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. It brings AI gas analysis capabilities to microcontroller projects via standard I2C and SPI interfaces. This sensor is ideal for students, makers, and developers building smart home systems, DIY weather stations, and portable environmental monitors.
Multi-parameter environmental sensing
The module integrates temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, and VOC measurements into a single compact board. It operates across a 3.3V to 5V DC supply and easily connects to microcontrollers using I2C or SPI protocols.

AI-driven gas analysis
The onboard BME688 sensor works with Bosch BME AI-Studio and the BSEC2-Arduino library to enable customised gas detection and analysis. This machine-learning capability allows developers to train the sensor to identify specific gas profiles for industrial safety and air quality research.

Stable VOC and climate measurement
The sensor delivers high-precision temperature readings with an accuracy of plus-or-minus 0.5°C across normal operating ranges. Its built-in heating layer minimises ambient interference, ensuring stable and reliable VOC measurements for indoor air monitoring.

Compact form factor
With board dimensions of only 30 mm by 22 mm, this module integrates easily into space-limited projects. Its small footprint makes it well suited for portable field equipment, smart home sensors, and agricultural monitoring nodes.

Sensor specifications and power
The sensor records temperatures from -40°C to +85°C, humidity from 0 to 100% relative humidity, and pressure from 300 to 1100 hPa. It operates at 5mA during standard sensing and draws 25mA when VOC measurement heating is active.
Included package contents
Each unit ships with the Gravity BME688 environmental sensor board, an XH2.54 10-pin header, and a standard Gravity I2C/UART connection cable.
