Description

The Gravity: AS7341 11-Channel Visible Light Sensor is an advanced multi-channel spectrometer module designed for precise spectral identification and colour matching. Powered by AMS's AS7341 sensor IC, it provides students, makers, and researchers with lab-grade optical analysis for lighting, botany, and automation projects.

Comprehensive 11-channel optical analysis

The sensor features eight dedicated visible light channels spanning 405nm to 690nm, alongside one near-infrared channel and one unfiltered clear channel. Six independent 16-bit ADC channels process data in parallel for fast, accurate spectral measurement.

Advanced spectrum vs RGB detection

Unlike standard RGB sensors that confuse mixed red and green light with true yellow, the AS7341 measures individual spectral bands to discern genuine wavelengths. This makes it ideal for verifying color mixing effects and precise colour matching.

Integrated flicker detection channel

A dedicated optical channel detects ambient light flicker frequencies at 50Hz and 60Hz. This enables ambient light monitoring and compensation for indoor lighting environments.

Built-in auxiliary illumination

Two onboard extra-bright LEDs provide consistent illumination in dark environments, with software-controlled driving current adjustable from 4mA to 42mA across 20 levels.

Broad application range

This module is suited for lighting colour temperature adjustment, ambient atmosphere control, modern plant cultivation monitoring, and high-accuracy laboratory colour detection.

Standard Gravity interface and contents

Operating across 3.3V to 5V over the I2C bus at address 0x39, the compact 22x20mm board comes complete with a Gravity 4-pin I2C/UART sensor cable for plug-and-play wiring.
