Gravity: Analog Ambient Light Sensor TEMT6000 (1~1000 Lux)

The Gravity: Analog Ambient Light Sensor uses a TEMT6000 phototransistor to measure illumination levels between 1 and 1000 Lux. Its spectral sensitivity closely matches that of the human eye, providing an analog voltage output directly proportional to ambient light density. It is well suited for students, educators, and makers building light-monitoring or automated lighting control projects.

Human eye spectral response

The onboard TEMT6000 sensor is designed with a spectral response that closely mimics the human eye, offering very low infrared sensitivity. This ensures realistic illumination measurement without false readings caused by invisible light sources.

Scalable analog voltage output

The module outputs an analog voltage ranging from 0 to 5V when supplied with 5V DC, reflecting the detected light density. Developers can read this analog signal into an Arduino or compatible microcontroller to set voltage thresholds for triggering external hardware.

Operating parameters and range

This sensor operates within a supply voltage range of 3.3V to 5.5V DC and handles ambient illumination levels from 1 to 1000 Lux. It is rated for wide-temperature operation between -40°C and 85°C.
