Description

The Gravity: Analog Ambient Light Sensor measures illumination levels between 1 Lux and 6000 Lux, returning an analog voltage signal proportional to light density. Operating across a 3.3V to 5V range, it is an accessible, plug-and-play sensing solution for students, educators, and hobbyists building interactive projects.

Dynamic range and rapid response

The sensor measures ambient illumination from 1 Lux to 6000 Lux to capture subtle shifts in lighting. With a fast 15-microsecond response time, it delivers near-instant analog feedback to your controller.

Dynamic range and rapid response

Wide voltage and controller compatibility

Running on 3.3V to 5V, this module connects directly to Arduino, micro:bit, ESP32, and RP2040 platforms. Because the Raspberry Pi lacks native analog inputs, it can be paired with an external ADC expansion module or HAT to read the signal.

Solder-free Gravity interface

Featuring a dedicated 3-pin Gravity connector clearly labelled with an A for analog, the module eliminates messy breadboard wiring. The board includes an immersion gold surface finish and comes supplied with a matching analog cable.

Compact board with standard mounting

Measuring 22 x 30 mm, this compact sensor is well-suited for space-limited robotics and IoT housings. Two 3 mm mounting holes allow for secure fastening to project chassis and brackets.

Graphical programming and threshold control

The module is compatible with beginner-friendly graphical coding platforms, including Mind+ and MakeCode. Users can define voltage thresholds in software to trigger LEDs, buzzers, relays, and other project actuators.
