Description
The Gravity: Analog Adjustable Infrared Sensor Switch is a versatile distance-sensing module designed to detect objects between 3cm and 40cm. Featuring low interference from ambient visible light and straightforward potentiometer tuning, it is ideal for students, makers, and hobbyists developing obstacle-avoiding mobile robots or assembly line counters.
Adjustable optical detection range
The sensor reliably detects both opaque and transparent objects across an adjustable range from 3cm to 40cm. Sensitivity and maximum trigger threshold are set directly via an integrated copper potentiometer adjustment screw.
Digital signal output logic
When an obstacle enters the detection zone and reflects the emitted infrared beam, the unit outputs a low voltage signal to the connected microcontroller. A 1k to 10k Ohm pull-up resistor must be added when interfacing the output line to MCU digital pins.
Focused beam and light immunity
Operating with a narrow directional sensing angle of 15 degrees or less, the module prevents false triggers from surrounding structures. It is engineered for low interference by ambient visible light to ensure consistent readings.
Power specifications and load capacity
The module operates on a standard 5V DC power supply and supports a control output current of up to 100mA at 5V. This provides direct compatibility with popular 5V microcontroller platforms.
Compact plastic housing and lead
Built into a durable plastic casing measuring 30mm by 20mm by 13mm, the sensor fits easily into space-constrained assemblies. It comes pre-wired with a 45cm lead wire and includes one sensor unit per pack.
