Description

The Gravity: Analog AC Current Sensor (20A) provides safe, non-contact AC current measurement without cutting wires or modifying mains circuits. Designed for makers, students, and engineers, it allows straightforward monitoring of household appliances, motors, and lighting systems with standard microcontrollers.

Non-contact AC current measurement

Measure AC currents up to 20A safely by clamping the open-type transformer probe over an AC line without cutting or soldering. The probe connects directly to the signal conversion module via a standard 3.5mm plug.

Microcontroller compatibility and connection

The conversion module operates on a 3.3V to 5.5V input voltage and outputs an analog DC voltage between 0.2V and 2.8V. It connects seamlessly to 3.3V and 5V microcontrollers like the Arduino UNO via the standard Gravity 3-pin interface.

Appliance and motor monitoring

Ideal for building automated current monitors for AC motors, air compressors, and lighting setups. The sensor accurately handles AC frequencies ranging from 50Hz to 1kHz.

Transformer probe specifications

The probe features a 13x13 mm clamp opening, a 1-metre cable, and an operating temperature range of -25 °C to +70 °C. It provides 0 to 1V AC output with ±1% accuracy and non-linearity under ±0.2%.

Kit contents

The pack includes one AC current signal conversion module, one 20A open-type AC transformer probe, and one Gravity 3-pin analog sensor cable.
