Description

The Gravity: Analog AC Current Sensor provides non-invasive current measurement from 0 to 10 A without cutting or modifying live circuits. Combining an open-type current transformer clamp with an analog signal conversion board, it enables safe and straightforward AC power tracking. It is ideal for students, makers, and educators building smart energy monitors, home automation setups, and equipment diagnostics.

Non-invasive AC current sensing

The open-type current transformer probe clips directly around an insulated conductor, eliminating hazardous wiring modifications and soldering. This inductive measurement method ensures user safety while providing stable current acquisition on household appliances and small industrial machinery.

Microcontroller-friendly analog output

The signal conditioning module operates on a 3.3V to 5.5V supply and converts the probe signal into a linear 0.2V to 2.8V DC analog voltage. It connects directly to Arduino and other embedded development platforms using the standard Gravity PH2.0-3P interface.

Accurate appliance load monitoring

Supporting a linear 0 to 10 A measurement range across 50 Hz to 1 kHz AC frequencies, the sensor is well suited for analyzing lighting, motors, and consumer appliances. The transformer clamp features a 13 mm by 13 mm opening that easily fits over standard cables.

This sensing kit is suitable for appliance energy monitoring, automated motor diagnostics, and STEM robotics experiments. Its clamp-on design allows for quick testing setups without interrupting running electrical circuits.

Complete hardware package

The package includes a 10 A open-type AC transformer probe with a 1-metre cable and 3.5 mm plug, the signal conversion module, and a Gravity 3-pin analog sensor cable. The probe is rated for operating temperatures between -25 °C and +70 °C.
