Description
The Gravity 64x8 Matrix DTOF 3D Laser Ranging Sensor is a solid-state LiDAR module capable of simultaneously measuring 512 distance points across a 120-degree horizontal field of view up to 5 metres away. Powered by direct time-of-flight technology with dual UART and USB Type-C connectivity, it is well suited to robotics students, educators, and makers building autonomous navigation, SLAM mapping, and obstacle avoidance systems.
Wide-angle 512-point matrix array
Featuring a full solid-state 64x8 matrix array, this sensor measures 512 independent points simultaneously across a 120-degree horizontal by 20-degree vertical field of view. It detects targets at distances from 100 mm to 5 m with a 14 mm ranging resolution.

Direct time-of-flight sensing
The 905 nm multi-line dToF architecture calculates distances by measuring the flight time of light pulses. This approach delivers strong resistance to ambient light and temperature variations, allowing stable operation in regular indoor and outdoor conditions.
Mobile robot obstacle avoidance
The wide detection area prevents collisions with furniture edges, low-lying obstacles, and narrow passages that narrow-beam sensors fail to see. It can be mounted directly on mobile robot chassis or robotic arms to eliminate navigational blind spots.
Dual interfaces and GUI visualization
The module features both a 3.3V UART serial port with a PH2.0-4P connector and a USB Type-C port for direct PC connection. A dedicated GUI utility provides real-time depth maps, grayscale images, and configurable data streams at up to 64 fps for single-row or 8 fps for full-matrix measurement.
