Description

The Gravity: 360 Degree Rotary Encoder Module is a cascadable digital input switch featuring 20 pulses per revolution and integrated status LEDs. It is ideal for makers, educators, and electronics hobbyists looking to build precise parameter adjustment controls for smart home systems, multimedia gear, and robotics projects.

Continuous 360-degree rotation with detents

Featuring 20 pulses per revolution, each pulse aligns with a tactile detent for accurate stepped rotation. The encoder supports continuous 360-degree movement, operates from 3.3V to 5V, and has a mechanical rating of 30,000 rotation cycles.

Visual LED detent feedback

Circular onboard LEDs light up to provide instant visual feedback on the encoder's current position and status. Accuracy is software-configurable from 1 to 51, allowing a single LED step to represent anything from one detent up to 2.5 full rotations.

Cascadable multi-device I2C bus

Dual Gravity I2C connectors and an onboard address switch allow you to daisy-chain up to four encoder modules on a single I2C interface. This setup enables unified control over multiple parameters such as RGB colour mixing, brightness, volume, and motor speed.

The module outputs straightforward digital data that increases on forward rotation and decreases in reverse. Its compact 37 by 37 mm form factor makes it well suited for automotive electronics, multimedia speakers, and smart home appliances.
