Description
The Gravity 10 DOF IMU AHRS combines a Bosch BNO055 9-axis absolute orientation sensor with a BMP280 barometric pressure and temperature sensor on a single compact board. It provides fully fused orientation, motion, and environmental data without requiring complex algorithm processing on your host controller. This module is ideal for makers, students, and engineers developing robotics, wearable devices, augmented reality, and indoor navigation systems.
On-chip 9-axis sensor fusion
The BNO055 integrates a 14-bit triaxial accelerometer, a 16-bit triaxial gyroscope, a geomagnetic sensor, and an internal 32-bit microcontroller. It automatically calculates and outputs orientation data including quaternions, Euler angles, rotation vectors, linear acceleration, gravity, and heading.
High-accuracy barometric altimetry
The onboard BMP280 digital pressure sensor measures barometric pressure from 300 to 1100 hPa with a relative accuracy of ±0.12 hPa (equivalent to ±1 m) and absolute accuracy of ±1 hPa. It also provides ambient temperature measurements between 0°C and 65°C with a 0.01°C resolution.
Standard Gravity I2C connectivity
The module operates on 3.3V to 5V DC with a typical current consumption of 5mA across a -40°C to +80°C temperature range. It communicates over a standard Gravity I2C interface and includes a Gravity 4-pin sensor cable for straightforward connection to microcontrollers.
Configurable ranges and power management
Sensor parameters can be tailored to your application, with selectable accelerometer ranges up to ±16g and gyroscope ranges up to ±2000°/s alongside motion-triggered interrupt support. Multiple operating modes—including normal, low power, and suspend—help optimise energy consumption for battery-powered builds.
