GM65 QR & Barcode Scanner Module

The GM65 QR and Barcode Scanner Module is an optical decoding module designed to read 1D barcodes and 2D QR codes from both printed paper and illuminated screens. Equipped with onboard micro USB and UART communication, it provides a versatile scanning solution for makers and developers building automated kiosks, access control systems, and interactive electronics projects.

Fast paper and screen decoding

Equipped with an intelligent image recognition algorithm, the module reads 1D and 2D barcodes in approximately one second. It captures codes reliably from both physical paper surfaces and digital screens, even in poorly-lit environments.

Dual USB and UART connectivity

The module features onboard micro USB and UART interfaces, allowing direct plug-and-play connection to a host computer or embedded microcontroller. It operates at 5V DC and supports custom operational setup by scanning configuration barcodes.

Broad barcode format support

The scanner decodes popular 2D formats including QR code, Data Matrix, and PDF417. It also supports standard 1D symbologies such as UPC/EAN, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Codebar, Interleaved 2 of 5, and GS1 DataBar.

Integrated CMOS optics and lighting

Using a 648x488 CMOS sensor paired with a 6500K white LED and 617nm capture LED, the unit functions in ambient lighting from 0 to 86,000 lux. It offers wide tolerance across scan angles, supporting 360-degree roll, plus or minus 60-degree pitch, and plus or minus 65-degree skew.

Embedded kiosk and terminal deployment

Drawing 120mA during active scanning and 30mA on standby, the compact module is suited for battery and mains-powered setups. It easily embeds into vending machines, turnstiles, payment terminals, and automated ticketing systems.
