Description

The Flexible RGB LCD Backlight Module is an ultra-thin, pliable illumination panel capable of generating up to 16 million colours across three independent RGB channels. Featuring a common anode configuration and 70% illumination uniformity, it delivers smooth, hotspot-free lighting over flat or contoured surfaces. It is an ideal lighting solution for makers, students, and engineers creating wearable devices, custom LCDs, and embedded status indicators.

Unlike standard rigid backlights, this panel conforms easily to curved contours and non-standard project housings. Its flexible structure makes it an effective lighting element for wearable technology, custom enclosures, and complex prototypes.

Full-spectrum RGB colour mixing

Equipped with dedicated red, green, and blue diode channels, the panel produces a wide spectrum of nearly 16 million distinct colours. Connecting the channels to PWM outputs allows designers to implement dynamic status indications, ambient effects, or data visualisations.

Uniform hotspot-free illumination

The module delivers consistent light across its entire surface with 70% illumination uniformity. This diffuse output eliminates harsh glare and hotspots, ensuring maximum legibility when placed behind monochrome LCD panels.

Compact profile and dimensions

The module features an ultra-thin footprint that easily slots into compact builds, simulator dashboards, and 3D prints. Please note that the protective film on the screen surface must not be removed.

Electrical ratings and power efficiency

The panel operates with a low power consumption between 3mW and 75mW and handles an operating temperature range from -20°C to 70°C. Forward voltage requirements are 1.8V to 2.2V for the red channel and 2.8V to 3.2V for both green and blue channels.

Diverse embedded project applications

This panel suits custom-shaped monochrome LCD backlights, flight simulator dashboards, and HMI panels. It is equally effective for building diffused indicators in PC cases, smart home controllers, and illuminated costume props.
