Fermion: TXS0108E 8-Bit Level Translator (Breakout)

The Fermion TXS0108E 8-Bit Level Translator is a bidirectional voltage-shifting breakout designed to bridge logic levels between incompatible microcontrollers and peripherals. It automatically translates signals across eight channels without direction control pins, making it ideal for makers, students, and engineers integrating mixed-voltage systems.

Dual configurable supply rails

The module features independent power rails with Port A supporting 1.2V to 3.6V and Port B supporting 1.65V to 5.5V. As long as VCCA remains less than or equal to VCCB, it provides reliable translation across 1.2V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V nodes.

Automatic direction sensing and speed

Automatic direction tracking eliminates the need for dedicated direction-control signals. The module achieves data transfer rates up to 60Mbps in push-pull applications and up to 2Mbps in open-drain configurations.

Compact board layout

Measuring 15.5 by 26mm, the compact PCB fits standard breadboards and project enclosures. It includes dual M2 mounting holes spaced 22mm apart for secure mechanical installation.

Broad communication protocol support

The translator supports common serial interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, and OneWire. It features an operating current of 30uA and functions reliably across temperatures from -30°C to 75°C.

Included pin headers

Each unit comes with one 8-bit level translator board and two 10-pin 2.54mm black single-row headers for soldering and breadboard prototyping.
