Description
The Fermion multifunctional environmental sensor breakout integrates temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, ambient light, and ultraviolet sensing onto a single compact board. An onboard microcontroller processes raw readings directly into standard engineering units to streamline wiring and software development. It is an ideal all-in-one solution for makers, students, and engineers building weather stations and climate monitoring systems.
Dual I2C and UART interfaces
The breakout supports switchable I2C and UART communication protocols for straightforward connection to microcontrollers and single-board computers. Full Arduino and Python libraries are available to accelerate software setup and simplify data acquisition.

Onboard MCU with pre-converted units
An onboard processing chip automatically converts raw telemetry into standard physical values before transmission. It directly outputs temperature in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit, relative humidity in percent, barometric pressure in kilopascals, illuminance in lux, and UV intensity in milliwatts per square metre.
Temperature, humidity, and barometric precision
Atmospheric tracking is handled by an SHTC3 sensor delivering plus or minus 2 percent RH accuracy alongside temperature readings from minus 40 to 125 degrees Celsius at plus or minus 0.2 degrees Celsius accuracy. A BMP280 sensor provides barometric pressure measurements between 300 and 1100 hPa with a relative accuracy of plus or minus 0.12 hPa.
Comprehensive light and UV monitoring
Optical detection uses an ambient VEML7700 light sensor with a measurement range of 0 to 120 klx and high resolution. It is paired with an ML8511 ultraviolet sensor sensitive to both UV-A and UV-B wavelengths across the 280 to 400 nm band.
Compact footprint and low power
Measuring only 30 mm by 20.5 mm, the module operates at 3.3V DC with a typical working current of 3.5 mA. The board layout isolates heat-generating components to maintain measurement accuracy and can be soldered directly onto host carrier PCBs.
