Fermion: TB6612FNG 2x1.2A DC Motor Driver (Breakout)

The Fermion TB6612FNG 2x1.2A DC Motor Driver Breakout is a compact dual-channel module designed to drive micro DC motors efficiently. Featuring simplified four-pin control logic compatible with L298N code, it saves valuable microcontroller I/O pins on development boards such as the Arduino Uno. It is ideal for students, hobbyists, and makers prototyping small mobile robots and DIY electronics projects.

Efficient four-pin control logic

The breakout adopts DFRobot L298N control logic, requiring only four GPIO pins to drive two DC motors. This configuration saves two control pins compared to standard TB6612FNG breakout boards, freeing up valuable microcontroller inputs and outputs.

Dual-channel motor drive capacity

Built around the TB6612FNG dual full-bridge driver chip, each channel delivers up to 1.2A of continuous drive current. The module handles start and peak currents of 2A for continuous pulses and 3.2A for single pulses to support small DC motors.

Wide operating voltage range

The logic supply voltage operates between 2.7V and 5.5V, ensuring straightforward integration with both 3.3V and 5V control boards. Motor input power supports a flexible supply range from 2.5V to 12V.

Compact breadboard-ready form factor

Measuring just 20 x 19.50 mm, the board fits standard prototyping breadboards via the two included XH2.54 6-pin headers. Its small footprint makes it easy to integrate into tight enclosures and compact robotic chassis.
