Description

The Fermion 0.91-inch 128x32 monochrome OLED display is an ultra-slim visual breakout powered by an integrated SSD1306 driver. Designed to operate at 3.3V to 5V over an I2C interface, it delivers sharp white text and graphics in space-constrained projects. It is ideal for students, makers, and developers building compact IoT nodes, wearables, and portable instruments.

Ultra-narrow form factor

Measuring only 41mm by 12mm and weighing 2.2g, this module fits easily into slim enclosures and handheld devices. The 0.91-inch active display area delivers 128 by 32 white pixels, capable of presenting two rows of 16-pixel characters.

High-contrast self-illuminating display

Self-emitting OLED pixels eliminate the need for a backlight, achieving a crisp typical brightness of 180 cd/m2 with high contrast. Turning the display off during idle periods helps conserve power and maintains brightness uniformity across the panel over time.

I2C interface and rear chip pad

The module uses an I2C interface to keep wiring minimal, complemented by integrated power-on reset circuitry for reliable startup. A dedicated chip-mounting pad structure on the back supports flexible soldering options for streamlined prototyping and custom PCB assembly.

Efficient power consumption

Full-screen illumination requires approximately 25mA at both 3.3V and 5V inputs. Turning all pixels off reduces power draw to approximately 2mA, making it well suited for battery-powered sensors and portable monitors.

Broad controller compatibility

Powered by the standard SSD1306 controller, the screen pairs seamlessly with Arduino Uno, Leonardo, ESP32, ESP8266, and FireBeetle-M0 boards. It is rated for operating temperatures between -30°C and 70°C for dependable use in varied environments.
