Fermion: SHTC3 Temperature & Humidity Sensor (Breakout)

The Fermion SHTC3 Temperature and Humidity Sensor is a digital breakout board powered by Sensirions high-precision SHTC3 sensing chip. Operating over an I2C interface from 3.3V to 5V with low current consumption, it is an ideal sensing solution for hobbyists, students, and engineers developing weather stations, data loggers, and mobile environmental monitors.

Accurate climate measurement

The sensor measures relative humidity from 0 to 100% RH with a typical accuracy of plus or minus 2% RH, alongside temperature detection across -40°C to 125°C with plus or minus 0.2°C accuracy. It delivers reliable environmental readings with a fast response time of 8 seconds (tau63%).

Low-power battery operation

Running on a 3.3V to 5V supply voltage, the board draws just 0.45mA during normal operation and drops below 0.15mA in low power mode. This minimal energy demand makes it well suited for remote, wireless, and battery-powered logging systems.

Standard I2C connection

Communication is handled via a standard I2C interface for straightforward wiring to microcontrollers and development boards. The module operates seamlessly across both 3.3V and 5V logic levels.

Compact breakout form factor

Measuring just 14 by 17 mm, the sensor fits easily into tight project enclosures. It includes an M2 mounting hole with a 10 mm pitch for secure mechanical installation.

Versatile project applications

Thanks to its high accuracy and low power draw, this module is suitable for weather monitoring stations, HVAC control systems, automotive telemetry, data loggers, and smart home appliances.

Each pack includes one Fermion SHTC3 humidity and temperature sensor breakout alongside one 2.54 mm single-row 4-pin header for easy breadboard and PCB connection.
