Description

The Fermion Monochrome 0.91-inch 128x32 I2C OLED Display is a compact, low-power screen module powered by the SSD1306 driver chip. Featuring crisp self-illuminating white pixels and standard through-hole soldering connections, it is ideal for entry-level makers, students, and hobbyists building wearable gadgets or mini instruments.

The screen features a 128x32 white pixel layout capable of displaying two rows of 16-pixel characters with a typical brightness of 180 cd/m2. Its 22.38 x 5.58 mm active viewing area delivers clear visibility across an operating temperature range of -30°C to 70°C.

Broad controller compatibility and I2C wiring

The module uses an I2C communication interface with internal power-on reset processing to keep wiring quick and straightforward. It supports 3.3V and 5V input, allowing seamless integration with boards like Arduino UNO, Leonardo, ESP32, ESP8266, and FireBeetle-M0.

Efficient power consumption

Full-screen illumination draws approximately 25mA at both 3.3V and 5V, while turning all pixels off reduces consumption to around 2mA. Turning off inactive pixels during idle periods also helps prevent differential pixel aging and maintains brightness uniformity.

Compact form factor for miniature projects

Weighing only 2.7 g and measuring 33 x 20 mm with 2 mm mounting holes, this breakout fits neatly into tight enclosures. It is well suited for desktop weather stations, digital thermometers, kitchen weighing scales, air quality detectors, and wearable projects.
