Description

The Fermion MEMS Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) Gas Detection Sensor is an ultra-compact breakout designed for qualitative monitoring of NO2 levels from 0.1 to 10ppm. Featuring low power draw and simple analog output across 3.3V to 5V, it is ideal for makers, students, and educators building ambient air monitors and vehicle exhaust detection projects.

Compact MEMS technology

Built using micro-electromechanical system technology, this miniature sensor measures just 13 x 13 x 2.5mm and consumes under 20mA. It provides rapid response and recovery times with minimal heat generation and short warm-up requirements.

Arduino wiring and analog output

The breakout outputs an analog voltage signal proportional to qualitative gas concentration, making it straightforward to connect to an Arduino UNO or compatible development board. It includes a 2.54mm pitch header pin strip for easy breadboard prototyping.

Air quality and emission applications

This sensor is well suited for detecting NO2 in ambient air quality monitors, automotive emission indicators, and educational industrial safety setups. Note that this module is designed for qualitative measurement and must not be used in personal safety critical systems.

Operating precautions and care

Peel off the protective film before use, and preheat the module for at least 24 hours if it has been left unused for extended periods. To maintain reliability, avoid contact with water, silicone vapours, corrosive gases, halogen contamination, and excessive mechanical shock.
