The Fermion MEMS Microphone Module is an ultra-compact acoustic sensor featuring built-in amplification and broad microcontroller compatibility. It is ideal for students, makers, and hobbyists looking to add sound detection or voice waveform sampling to their robotics and electronics projects.

Analog acoustic waveform output

The breakout outputs an analog voltage sitting at approximately 1.5V when silent. When sound or speech is detected, the acoustic waveform can be captured directly through your microcontroller's ADC sampling pins.

Integrated gain amplification

Featuring a pre-configured amplifier gain of 66, this tiny MEMS sensor boosts subtle audio signals for reliable readout. It delivers a sensitivity rating of -42dB and a signal-to-noise ratio of 59dBA.

Wide voltage compatibility

Operating across 3.3V and 5V power supplies, the board seamlessly pairs with various mainstream development platforms without the need for level shifting.

All-round acoustic coverage

The microphone features an all-round directivity pattern with an effective frequency response range of 100Hz to 8KHz, making it well-suited for ambient sound sensing and voice recognition tasks.

Compact footprint and package

Measuring just 18 mm by 12.5 mm, the module integrates easily into space-constrained enclosures. Each package includes one Fermion MEMS microphone module and one 2.54mm 3-pin single-row header.
