Description
The Fermion MEMS H2 and NOx Gas Detector is a compact breakout board built around the MiCS-2714 sensor for monitoring hydrogen and nitrogen oxides. Operating on 5V DC with a proportional analog output, it provides rapid detection with response times under 30 seconds. It is ideal for makers, engineering students, and developers building industrial safety monitors, fuel cell leak detectors, or environmental measurement stations.
Multi-gas detection range
The onboard MiCS-2714 MEMS sensor tracks hydrogen from 1 to 1000 ppm along with nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide from 0.05 to 10 ppm. This simultaneous sensing capability helps identify explosive hydrogen risks and toxic nitrogen oxide emissions in a single package.
Linear analog signal output
The board produces a linear 0 to 5V DC analog voltage corresponding to gas concentration with a response time of under 30 seconds. It includes conversion formulas and sample code for straightforward integration with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and industrial PLCs.
Compact board layout
Measuring just 12 by 16 mm, the module features a 3-pin Gravity connector and pre-loaded concentration algorithms. Its miniature footprint fits easily into tight enclosures, portable devices, and embedded sensor arrays.

Low power and rugged durability
Drawing 0.45W at 5V, the sensor includes an enable and disable pin control to save power in battery-powered field setups. It functions in harsh environments ranging from -30°C to 85°C and up to 95 percent non-condensing humidity, offering an operational lifespan of over two years.
Versatile safety applications
This module is suited for hydrogen fuel cell leak detection, industrial plant safety monitors, and automotive exhaust emissions testing. It is also an effective tool for educational laboratory gas analysis and fixed environmental monitoring stations.
