Description

The Fermion LWLP5000 is a high-resolution differential pressure sensor breakout designed to measure comparative pressure across two points up to plus or minus 500 Pa. Operating over I2C from 3.3V to 5V, it is ideal for makers, engineering students, and developers building precision airflow monitoring and control projects.

Accurate differential pressure measurement

Encapsulating a high-performance MEMS pressure chip and a dedicated conditioning chip, this breakout accurately measures pressure differences between two points. It provides a measuring range of plus or minus 500 Pa with a rated accuracy of plus or minus 1.5% full scale.

Multi-stage temperature compensation

The sensor IC integrates a unique multi-stage temperature-compensation algorithm to minimise environmental effects on output readings. It maintains compensated accuracy across -5°C to 65°C and operates within an overall temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

Simple I2C digital interface

Featuring an I2C digital output with an address of 0x00, the board connects seamlessly to common microcontrollers. It supports a standard 3.3V to 5V operating voltage range for flexible hardware integration.

Wide monitoring applications

This differential sensor is well suited for central ventilation systems, industrial control setups, and home or portable medical monitoring devices. Its high resolution allows for reliable comparative pressure analysis across HVAC and medical equipment.

Handling and operating precautions

The sensor must be operated strictly in clean air to preserve its resolution and operational lifespan. Ensure no water or liquids enter the sensor nozzle, as moisture will cause permanent damage to the internal elements.

Compact form factor and kit

Measuring just 14.5 mm by 24 mm, the breakout easily fits into space-constrained enclosures. Each package includes one differential pressure sensor board and a standard 2.54 mm 4-pin single-row header.
