Fermion: H2S Gas Sensor – Hydrogen Sulfide Detector (Breakout, 0.5-50ppm, MEMS, Low Power)

The Fermion MEMS H2S Gas Sensor is an ultra-compact, low-power breakout board designed to detect hydrogen sulfide concentrations between 0.5 and 50ppm. Operating between 3.3V and 5V with an analogue voltage output, it is well suited for makers, students, and engineers building environmental air quality and waste monitoring projects.

Sensitive MEMS gas detection

Utilising micro-electro-mechanical systems technology, the sensor detects hydrogen sulfide and benzene across a 0.5 to 50ppm range. It provides rapid response and recovery times for qualitative gas detection in sewers, waste areas, and restrooms.

Ultra-low power and compact footprint

Measuring only 13 x 13 x 2.5mm and consuming under 20mA of current, this breakout integrates easily into portable detectors and energy-conscious IoT monitoring nodes.

Straightforward analogue interface

The module operates on standard 3.3V to 5V logic and outputs an analogue voltage signal, allowing direct interfacing with common microcontrollers, ADC modules, and development boards.

Durable multi-year lifespan

Engineered for longevity, the sensor offers an operational lifespan of at least five years in air across working temperatures from -10°C to 50°C and non-condensing humidity levels between 15% and 90% RH.

Handling and application precautions

Peel off the protective film before use and preheat the module for 24 hours after prolonged storage. Avoid exposure to silicone vapours, corrosive gases, water, and mechanical shock. This sensor is designed for qualitative measurement and is not rated for critical personal safety equipment.

Kit contents

Each pack includes one Fermion MEMS H2S sensor breakout module and one 2.54mm pitch pin header for breadboard integration.
