Description

The Fermion ENS160+BME280 Environmental Sensor is an all-in-one breakout board that monitors TVOC, eCO2, temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure over a single I2C bus. Combining ScioSense TrueVOC technology with precision BME280 sensing, it is ideal for makers, educators, and engineers building indoor air quality monitors, smart HVAC setups, and automated climate systems.

Comprehensive air quality monitoring

This breakout measures TVOC from 0 to 65,000 ppb and eCO2 from 400 to 65,000 ppm while calculating overall AQI. It simultaneously measures ambient temperature with plus or minus 0.5 degrees Celsius accuracy and relative humidity across a 5 to 95 percent range.

TrueVOC technology and fast warm-up

Powered by ScioSense metal-oxide sensing, the module offers high anti-interference against common ambient gases. It reaches full operational readiness with a warm-up time of under 3 minutes.

Integrated environmental compensation

The onboard BME280 measures barometric pressure from 300 to 1100 hPa to automatically correct gas readings for altitude and weather shifts. This integrated compensation improves gas measurement accuracy by 30 percent compared to uncompensated standalone sensors.

Easy microcontroller integration

The board operates on 3.3V power with under 20mA current draw and supports both 3.3V and 5V logic systems. It communicates over standard I2C using addresses 0x53 for the ENS160 and 0x76 for the BME280, with support for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, Home Assistant, and Node-RED.

Compact prototyping format

Measuring just 22 by 28 mm, the module comes with pre-soldered 2.54 mm headers and stacks with other Fermion modules. It performs across an operating temperature range of -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius for demanding automation and monitoring projects.
