Description
The Fermion BMI323+BMM350 9DOF IMU sensor pairs a 6-axis inertial measurement unit with a 3-axis magnetometer for comprehensive motion and heading tracking. Operating at 3.3 V over I2C, it provides raw sensor access for embedded developers, roboticists, and makers building compact orientation systems. It is ideal for wearable electronics, mobile robotics, handheld controllers, and custom electronic compasses.
High-speed 6-axis motion tracking
The Bosch BMI323 integrates a 16-bit 3-axis accelerometer and gyroscope with selectable ranges up to ±16 g and ±2000 °/s at output rates up to 6400 Hz. An integrated 2048-byte FIFO buffer prevents data loss, while built-in hardware functions detect steps, taps, tilt, free-fall, and general activity.

Low-drift magnetic heading sensing
The Bosch BMM350 magnetometer provides 3-axis magnetic field measurement across a ±2000 µT range with 0.1 µT resolution and output rates up to 400 Hz. Utilising third-generation TMR technology, it maintains a low zero-field offset drift of ±2 µT across -40 °C to +85 °C after calibration to support accurate compass algorithms.

Power-efficient operating profiles
The complete 9DOF module consumes 0.92 mA in standard operation and drops to 0.37 mA in Low Power mode. Sleep, Low Power, Normal, and High Performance modes allow fine-tuned power management for battery-powered wearables and remote sensor nodes.

Compact breakout with dual connectivity
Measuring just 24 × 19 mm, the board features both an SH1.0-5P connector and standard 2.54 mm header holes for soldered or plug-in wiring. Each sensor offers two selectable I2C addresses alongside three programmable interrupt pins for streamlined embedded integration.

Broad development board support
Arduino and Python software libraries provide direct access to raw sensor data for custom fusion algorithms and rapid prototyping. The breakout is compatible with Arduino boards, ESP32 microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi single-board computers, and the Raspberry Pi Pico.
