Description
The Fermion: BMM350 is a high-precision three-axis geomagnetic sensor breakout designed to deliver accurate electronic compass heading and spatial orientation data. Featuring Bosch FlipCore and tunnel magnetoresistance technology, it is ideal for makers and engineers developing AR/VR gear, drones, and autonomous guided vehicles.
FlipCore and TMR technology
Utilising Bosch's patented FlipCore technology, this sensor provides accurate spatial orientation without requiring calibration. Groundbreaking tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) technology delivers enhanced measurement capabilities and lower power consumption compared to the earlier BMM150 series.

Magnetic field shock recovery
An integrated field shock recovery feature protects the sensor against interference from external magnetic disturbances. This ensures consistent, high-precision data output when operating in dynamic or electrically noisy environments.
High 400Hz sample rate
The sensor supports a sample rate of up to 400Hz to supply responsive, real-time spatial orientation and movement tracking. This rapid update speed is suited to fast-reacting systems such as drone flight controllers and AR/VR head tracking.
Wide range and fine resolution
The BMM350 covers a broad measurement range of ±2000μT across all three axes (XYZ) with a zero-field offset of ±25μT. A resolution of 0.1μT allows the device to detect minute fluctuations in surrounding magnetic fields.

Navigation and tracking applications
This module functions effectively as an e-compass and provides geomagnetic navigation for automated guided vehicles (AGVs). It is also well-suited for attitude tracking in drones and immersive AR/VR systems.

Power and I2C interface
Operating via an I2C protocol, the sensor supports a supply voltage of 3.3V to 5V DC with a rapid 2.5ms start-up time. It draws just 200μA in normal mode at a 100Hz sample rate and functions across an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
Included package contents
Each pack includes one Fermion: BMM350 triple-axis magnetometer breakout board and one matching XH2.54 10-pin header for easy breadboard and PCB integration.
