Description

The Fermion BME680 is a compact 4-in-1 MEMS environmental breakout board that measures volatile organic compounds, atmospheric pressure, humidity, and temperature. Designed for indoor air quality tracking, weather stations, and IoT devices, it delivers multi-parameter monitoring in a miniature footprint. It is ideal for students, hobbyists, and engineers creating smart home or wearable applications.

Four-in-one environmental monitoring

The sensor integrates temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, and VOC gas detection into a single MEMS module. It tracks indoor air quality across an index range of 0 to 500 to identify ambient pollutants.

Wide operating range and accuracy

The module measures temperatures from -40°C to +85°C with ±1.0°C accuracy from 0°C to 65°C, and relative humidity across 0 to 100% r.H. It also detects air pressure from 300 to 1100 hPa with ±0.6 hPa precision.

Flexible communication interfaces

The breakout supports both I2C (default address 0x76) and SPI communication modes. An onboard voltage regulator and logic-level translation circuit allow direct I2C connection to both 3.3V and 5V development boards.

Low power operation

Operating from an input voltage of 3.3V to 5.5V, the board draws approximately 5mA during standard use and 25mA during active VOC sensing. This makes it well suited for energy-conscious IoT and portable monitoring projects.

Compact breakout design

Measuring just 18 mm by 15.6 mm, the module is engineered for easy installation in tight spaces. Standard 2.54 mm pitch pin breakouts allow quick integration into breadboards and custom circuits.

Included hardware

The package includes one BME680 environmental sensor module, one 4-pin 2.54 mm header, and one 6-pin 2.54 mm header.
