Description
The Fermion ADXL345 breakout is a compact, low-power three-axis acceleration sensor board capable of measuring dynamic motion and static tilt up to plus or minus 16g. Featuring 13-bit resolution and configurable digital communication, it is ideal for students, hobbyists, and robotics developers building motion-activated projects.
High-resolution triaxial measurement
The sensor delivers 13-bit measurement resolution across a range of up to plus or minus 16g with a sensitivity of 4 mg/LSB. This allows accurate detection of dynamic shocks as well as static inclination changes of less than 1.0 degree.
I2C and SPI digital interfaces
Sensor readings are output as 16-bit two's complement data and can be accessed via either I2C or 3-wire and 4-wire SPI protocols for simple microcontroller integration.
Hardware motion and gesture detection
Integrated hardware detection tracks activity, inactivity, single taps, double taps, and free-fall conditions. These events can be routed directly to two configurable interrupt output pins to reduce software overhead.
Low-power efficiency and FIFO buffer
The module operates from a 2.0V to 3.6V DC supply, consuming 40uA during active measurement and 0.1uA in standby mode at 2.5V. An integrated 32-level FIFO buffer caches measurement data to minimise host processor intervention.
Included in the box
This package includes one Fermion ADXL345 triple-axis accelerometer breakout board.
