Fermion: 3.5” 480x320 TFT LCD Capacitive Touchscreen with MicroSD Card Slot (Breakout)

The Fermion 3.5-inch 480x320 TFT LCD module features a multi-touch capacitive screen, wide viewing angles, and an onboard MicroSD slot. It is well suited for makers, educators, and electronics hobbyists building custom IoT interfaces, portable game consoles, or desktop notifier displays.

Sharp display with wide viewing angles

Driven by an ILI9488 controller, this 3.5-inch screen delivers 480x320 resolution with 16-bit RGB565 colour and a typical brightness of 300 cd/m2. Its IPS panel offers a wide 60-degree viewing angle in every direction for consistent visual clarity.

Five-point capacitive touch support

The integrated GT911 touch chip detects up to five capacitive touch points simultaneously. This enables responsive multi-touch interaction for interactive control panels and custom UI projects.

SPI and GDI interface options

The module uses standard 4-wire SPI communication and includes a GDI port for plug-and-play connection to compatible controllers. It operates reliably across a wide 3.3V to 5.5V supply voltage range.

Onboard MicroSD card expansion

A built-in MicroSD card slot allows controllers to read and render bitmaps and graphical assets without overloading internal microcontroller memory. The MicroSD card is sold separately.

Broad development board compatibility

This breakout is fully compatible with popular microcontrollers including the Arduino UNO, Leonardo, ESP32, ESP8266, and FireBeetle M0. Full-screen power consumption averages roughly 48.1mA at operating voltages.

Hardware specifications and package contents

The module measures 55.50x95.00 mm with 2 mm mounting holes and an operating temperature range of -20 to +70 degrees Celsius. Each package includes the display board, a 2.54mm 14-pin header, and a 10cm 18-pin FPC cable.
