Fermion: 1.54" 240x240 IPS TFT LCD Display with MicroSD Card (Breakout)

The Fermion 1.54-inch IPS TFT LCD breakout module delivers a sharp 240x240 colour display with wide viewing angles and low power consumption. It features both 4-wire SPI and plug-and-play GDI connections alongside an onboard MicroSD slot for extended image storage. It is ideal for students, hobbyists, and makers creating compact wearable electronics, custom dashboards, or weather monitors.

Crisp IPS colour screen

The 1.54-inch display features a 240x240 resolution driven by an ST7789 chip with 16-bit RGB565 colour depth. Its IPS panel provides wide 80/80/80/80 viewing angles and 250 cd/m2 typical brightness across a 27.72 x 27.72 mm active area.

Dual SPI and GDI connectivity

The board supports standard 4-wire SPI communication as well as a plug-and-play GDI port for direct connection to compatible controllers like the FireBeetle M0. It includes a 10-pin header and a 10cm FPC flat cable to simplify prototyping.

Integrated MicroSD card slot

An onboard MicroSD card socket allows microcontrollers to load and stream stored image files directly to the screen. Note that a MicroSD card is not included and must be supplied separately.

Broad microcontroller compatibility

Operating on 3.3V to 5V, the breakout works seamlessly with common platforms including Arduino UNO, Leonardo, ESP32, ESP8266, and FireBeetle M0. It is energy efficient, consuming approximately 17mA typical full-screen current and a maximum of 24mA.

Compact build for custom projects

With a lightweight 19g profile and 2mm mounting holes, this module is well suited for wearable devices, media players, and waveform monitors. It functions reliably across an operating temperature range of -30°C to +70°C.
