EL Wire - Blue

This blue Electroluminescent (EL) Wire provides a flexible, continuous 360-degree linear glow along its entire 1-metre length. Powered by an alternating current source, it eliminates the distinct hotspots of traditional LED strips, making it ideal for makers, cosplayers, educators, and designers creating signage, wearables, or ambient architectural lighting.

Continuous 360-degree linear glow

A phosphor-coated copper core enclosed in a protective sleeve delivers seamless, uniform illumination around the entire circumference. Unlike segmented LED strips, it provides an uninterrupted blue outline that produces between 30 cd/m2 and 126 cd/m2 of brightness at 120 V.

Flexible 3 mm diameter cable

With a slender 3 mm profile and lightweight build, this 1-metre luminous wire bends easily around contours, structural edges, and intricate patterns. The durable outer tube protects the inner phosphor layer while enabling tight routing through costumes, vehicle interiors, and craft projects.

Wide operating voltage and frequency

The wire operates across a 20 V to 220 V AC voltage range at 50 Hz to 5000 Hz, with optimal performance achieved at 120 V and 1500 Hz to 2000 Hz. This broad electrical tolerance makes it fully compatible with standard EL inverters for DIY electronics and stage installations.

Low power consumption and longevity

Operating at power levels between 108 mW/m and 1032 mW/m depending on frequency, the wire keeps energy demands low during extended runtimes. It offers an operating lifespan of approximately 5000 hours under standard conditions at 100 V and 400 Hz.

Wide temperature operating range

Engineered to withstand continuous operating and storage temperatures from -10°C to +60°C, the wire performs reliably in diverse environments. It suits indoor displays, outdoor signage, safety passage guidance, and automotive or marine accents.
